I am a heavy person, so I was looking for a bike that was comfortable to ride and could also hold my weight (420lbs/191kg), so I could get some comfortable exercise that did not hurt my knees. I also needed a bike I could easily get on, with my limited flexibility. Needless to say, I was having a hard time finding a bike that would fit that description.
I had heard great things about Dutch bikes, and while searching I came across The Tank. Not only was it a step-through frame like I wanted, but it also could hold more than my weight. I purchased the e-bike version along with a brighter light.
The service was phenomenal. I was in constant communication with the team, even when I had ordered the bike a bit too close to their vacation time. They made the expectation very clear so I waited patiently. Upon arrival, I already had emailed instructions to note any damage to the box and relay to them.
Everything was in excellent condition, and they provided most of the tools required to put it together (aside from a set of pliers, I was set). The assembly videos were clear enough that I could put everything together properly. They sent the battery in a separate shipment because lithium batteries are difficult to ship.
The bike rides like a dream. I am relearning to be comfortable in a bike, but the bike build is solid steel with thick tires, which can confidently handle my weight.
I am slowly building up my stamina using the e-bike pedal assist and I am working my way until I can do loops around my neighborhood without.
The service, the quality of the builds, the parts… everything was amazing. I would definitely recommend this company and this bike!
