Frequently Asked Questions

What about the quality of the bicycles?

Our Dutch Azor bikes are not mass-produced. They are still handmade, one at a time, by Azor in the Netherlands. They are designed and built to last a lifetime, outside in the Dutch rain. They are built for upright comfort and reliability and strength to carry cargo and children, all with ultra-low maintenance.
The frames are built to handle both heavy loads (riders/cargo) and constant use. The wheels have ultra strong rims with thick spokes. In addition, each frame has been coated with an anti-rust primer and a tough and durable powder coat (you must see the paint job in person to fully appreciate the quality). That means that you don’t need to worry about rust. Azor actually tests all of its components and paint finishes in a salt and steam bath (accelerated corrosion) for three months to test for the ultimate durability because in Holland bikes are traditionally left outdoors year-round for decades.

What about the delivery time?

Please read all about shipping and delivery on our Shipping and Assembly page.

Do I have to pay any import duties?

No. Our bikes include all of the import costs because you are purchasing your bike in the USA from the Amsterdam bicycle Company LLC, located in Delaware, USA. We pay all of the duties, import taxes, handling fees, other misc fees and of course take care of all of the hassle.

There is no brick-and-mortar store that I can go to?

That’s right. Both brick-and-mortar stores and online retailers have their advantages. Currently, the benefits of an online store outweigh those of a physical store. We don’t require expensive storefronts and that allows us to offer you the best service for the best price.

How do I know my order was received?

You will receive a confirmation email letting you know that your order was received.

Can you build a custom build bicycle for me?

Absolutely! We are happy to build a custom bicycle for you. Azor bicycles are handmade to order, allowing us to design your new bicycle part-by-part. We are working on a build gallery. In the meantime, you may contact us and let us know your wishes.

So, a Dutch bike. Do I need special bicycle apparel?

No! Wear whatever you want. We bike to work or an appointment wearing a suit or casual wear, whatever is convenient. Weather permitting off course but if its cold, wear a warm coat and if it rains, wear a raincoat. There really is no need for spandex and skin tights. Ever. You are sitting fully upright and your bike has proper fenders and the chain and gears are fully enclosed so you can keep your clothes clean.
